About CARE: CARE international began it's activities in Burundi in 1994 by bringing emergency aid to people affected by civil war. Today, CARE International in Burundi has now become a technical leader of innovations for economic empowerment, peace, dignity, social cohesion and good governance, with special emphasis on vulnerable women and the youth.


Women & Youth

CARE Burundi has two long term programs for Women’s (WEP) and Youth (YEP) empowerment. Both programs have a similar impact goal, the realization of fundamental rights for their impact groups, focussing on the rights to education, health, economic activity, security and participation in decision
